1 & 2. When did you discover your love of design? When I was a kid I used to make my doll clothes. My grandma taught me how to knit on big nails, on carpenter¹s nails, because my grandpa did construction. I didn¹t think I would end up getting in fashion. I remember seeing Funny Face with Audrey Hepburn and thought the job of a fashion editor was so cool. I didn¹t know you could be a fashion designer. While I was in school in England, I started working at a fashion store, which was quite well known at the time, Fiorucci. That¹s when I decided to go to Ravensbourne College in London where I studied fashion & textiles.
3. Do you design with a customer or certain woman in mind?
Intelligent, independent and free-thinking women. I love to see women of all ages and shapes have an appreciation and interest in the collection. They buy things because they love them, because it appeals to them. It's more about a feeling, a lifestyle.
4. What is your motto? The best trend to follow is individualism.
5. If you were stranded, what could you not live without?
My husband, kids and a good book - what more could you want?!
